Love Shack Country Club is getting ready to open at 13921 E. Trent Ave. in Spokane Valley. A soft opening is planned for September 1, followed by a grand opening weekend on September 25 and 26.

Owners Carrie and Norman Thomson have owned the building for about 20 years and previously leased it to other operators. This time, they decided to run the business themselves. The couple also owns Stormin Norman’s Shipfaced Saloon.

Carrie Thomson told What Now Seattle that the idea came from the lack of country music spots in Spokane Valley, especially places with live bands.

The Love Shack will have both indoor and outdoor stages, with bands performing every weekend and on select weekdays. Guests can also expect line dancing lessons and what Thomson described as simple country food.

At the same time, the Thomsons want the space to keep the feel of a neighborhood bar. The team has been sharing progress photos showing the bar, pool table, and seating areas taking shape as construction continues.

The business will expand beyond regular nights out next spring, when the Thomsons plan to begin hosting weddings.

For the September grand opening, the couple is planning two days of live music and other activities. Thomson said a local radio station will broadcast from the property, and guests will also find a tattoo station, a build-your-own trucker hat station, and permanent jewelry.

The club is already booking bands for upcoming dates. Follow Love Shack Country Club on Instagram for updates as the team finishes the space and prepares to open.
