A spot for fresh hibachi cuisine is coming to the west side of town.
Ichiban continues Southeast Michigan growth as a new location is on the way to Dearborn. There is no address released, but it looks to be opening next to the H&R Block at the Westborn Mall shopping plaza. An opening date has not yet been established.
“Experience live hibachi, handcrafted sushi, premium steaks, fresh seafood, and exceptional hospitality,” says the excerpt on their website.
The menus at Ichiban locations also feature appetizers like edamame, spring rolls and crispy cheese rangoons. Tempura, or deep fried vegetables and seafoods, are also served at multiple restaurants. Of course, stir-fried noodles, hibachi and teriyaki are on the menus.
The chain has been expanding throughout Metro Detroit in the last few years, with locations in Taylor, Sterling Heights, Ann Arbor, Jackson and soon Novi at 42050 Grand River Avenue. Their Sterling Heights location first debuted in 2010, followed by the others.
The new Ichiban will be in the plaza at the intersection of Outer Drive West and Michigan Avenue. Other chains in the area include Kroger, Dollar Tree and Staples. The area is considered West Dearborn.
What Now Detroit has reached out to representatives from Ichiban and is awaiting comment. More information on the restaurant can be found on their Instagram @ichiban_restaurants.
