Not long after opening, the restaurant is going through a major change.
From Crain’s Detroit Business, the team at Bella Limone in Royal Oak, 100 S Main Street, is turning the building into three separate concepts this year: Bella Rose Italiano, Little Bella’s Pizza and Wine Bar and White Lotus. This follows Bella Limone being opened by Adam Merkel in August 2025. An opening date for the revamped space has not yet been announced.
Bella Limone offers both an indoor and outdoor dining experience, with a rooftop patio. It also features a banquet space, serving the same Italian cuisine those visiting have come to enjoy. The restaurant s is still open as of now, but construction will be underway soon.
Merkel had been planning the pizza and wine bar for the basement which opened in March, but he just recently announced the addition of White Lotus and rebrand for Bella Limone. The menu for White Lotus has not been confirmed, but it will reportedly be a sushi restaurant.
The three new concepts are coming to the corner of S Main Street and W Eleven Mile Road, next to Leo’s Coney Island. Royal Oak Marsala is also next door, and also close-by is The Great Dane Pub. This is near the center of the city’s downtown.
Merkel is an established restaurateur in the area as he owns Diamonds Steak & Seafood and The Silver Pig, both in Howell. What Now Detroit has reached out to Merkel and is awaiting comment. More information on Bella Rose and the transition can be found on their website.
