Poultry has proven the recent star of the fast-casual scene; diners can’t get enough chicken and more and more restaurants are rising to the challenge of feeding the seemingly insatiable hunger for it. Tender Love Chicken is on deck to do just that; the new concept is working on the permitting necessary to open an Airways Boulevard storefront.

Tender Love Chicken currently has a certificate of occupancy under review with the Memphis and Shelby County Division of Planning and Development. The submitted paperwork shows that the 1525 Airways Boulevard building will provide the eatery with 580 square feet of space.

The form further describes Tender Love Chicken as a “chicken tender restaurant”, suggesting the concept will focus on that particular preparation once its doors are open.

Little information is available about the concept beyond this. The certificate of occupancy is under review as of August 6, so while forward momentum is palpably occurring, an opening date remains nebulous. Tender Love Chicken does not yet have a digital footprint. What Now Memphis has reached out to ownership for further information and will update readers as details become available.
