A market and cafe concept will be offering drink and grocery options to more neighborhoods.
Foxtrot is expanding with two new stores in the city, per a recent report from Chicago Business Journal. These are at 2600 N Clark Street in Lincoln Park and at 917 Belmont Avenue at the Belmora apartment project in Lakeview. Chief Operating Officer Jason DaPisa told What Now Chicago both locations are slated to open summertime next year.
The convenience store concept started in 2013 as a delivery concept, then debuting a brick-and-mortar also featuring cafes inside. The team has worked to revive their locations in Wicker Park, FultonMarket and Gold Coast. Foxtrot has crossed state lines as well, with other stores in Texas.
“Foxtrot was created as a neighborhood gathering place, and Belmora’s walkable, transit-oriented location makes it a natural fit for our next Chicago store,” says a statement from DaPisa. “We’re excited to rejoin the Lakeview community and provide residents and neighbors with a convenient home for any daypart that suits their needs, whether it be morning coffee and breakfast tacos, lunchtime sweets and a fresh panini, or a bottle of wine and that last grocery item to complete the dinner plans. We’re so excited to offer that experience to the Lakeview neighborhood at Belmora both through in-store discovery and through fast pickup and delivery options.”
The Lincoln Park store will be at the corner W Wrightwood Avenue, across from Briny Swine Smokehouse & Oyster Bar. on the other side of Wrightwood is Del Seoul Korean. This is close to the busy intersection of N Clark, Diversey and N Broadway.
Moving north, Foxtrot’s new Lakeview spot will be a smaller size, next to Naz’s Halal Food and across from a Taco Bell. This is to anchor the new five-story apartment project, but is not taking up the entire first floor. The Belmont CTA station is a short walk from the storefront.
As it is early in the development process, Foxtrot is not releasing more details about the new stores at this time. More information on the company can be found on their website.
