Sierra Grille will permanently close its Atlantic Beach location on September 13 after more than two decades in business. The restaurant cited rising operating costs and sales that had not grown enough to sustain the location.
Atlantic Beach’s Sierra Grille to Shut Down
A neighborhood favorite Tex-Mex casual eatery has served the Jacksonville community for more than two decades. It is well-known for serving classic Southern and Tex-Mex comfort dishes, including burritos and tacos, salsa, and more. The restaurant offers a casual and relaxing dining experience.
The restaurant announced the closure in a social media post. Sierra Grille is located at 1021 Atlantic Boulevard in Atlantic Beach.
“Our last day of operations will be Sunday, September 13, 2026. At the end of our current lease,” said the team.
While the Atlantic Beach location is closing, the original location of Sierra Grille in Marsh Landing Pkwy, Jacksonville Beach, will continue to serve the community.
What Led to the Closure
In the post, the team behind the restaurant explained that the overall operational cost of the restaurant has increased a lot. However, over the years “sales have not grown enough” to sustain the business’s expenses at the location.
The team thanked the community members and customers and said, “We are incredibly grateful to this community for welcoming us, supporting us, and allowing us to be part of it.”
They also encouraged the community to stop by and enjoy one more meal before its permanent closure.
Several regular customers expressed their disappointment over the restaurant closure announcement. One of the customers shared, “Hands down my favorite taco salad in town. Hopefully the one at Marsh Landing stays open.”
Sierra Grille will close its Atlantic Beach location but original Sierra Grille in Jax Beach will remain open.
