Mayday Handcrafted Ice Cream is coming to 250 Palm Coast Pkwy. NE, Suite 403, in Palm Coast. The new shop will be owned by Anne Patala, and it adds a new scoop shop to the Flagler County city.
Mayday is a St. Augustine-based ice cream brand founded by Stephen DiMare. It makes small-batch ice cream with premium ingredients and serves it at community-focused scoop shops. Its homemade waffle cones are made fresh in the shops, and its flavors rotate with the seasons.
Signature flavors include Queen Salted Caramel and Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookie. Others range from Blueberry Toast Crunch and Almond Butter Chocolate to Coffee + Donuts, mixing familiar favorites with original creations.
The brand has been growing across Florida. It has shops in St. Augustine, Jacksonville, Lakeland and Tampa’s Ybor City, and is also planning a shop at Hamlin in Winter Garden and a move into Naples.
Palm Coast sits in northeastern Florida, between St. Augustine, about 25 miles to the north, and Daytona Beach, about 30 miles to the south. The city was developed as a planned community starting in 1969 and incorporated in 1999. It has grown quickly, from about 32,700 residents in 2000 to about 89,300 in 2020, making it the most populous city in its metro area.
Interstate 95 runs through the city, and the Intracoastal Waterway forms its eastern border. Palm Coast also has more than 130 miles of trails, parks and preserves, and its beaches and Flagler Beach are a short drive away, which makes a cool treat a draw for locals and visitors.
