KidStrong is preparing to bring its youth development and training program to New Braunfels, with a new location planned for FM 306 and an anticipated opening in early 2027.
KidStrong franchise owner Manuel Torres confirmed the upcoming location in an interview with WhatNow San Antonio. The facility will be located at 738 FM 306, Suite 102, New Braunfels, TX 78130, inside the Coleman Retail Building.
According to a recently registered Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation project, the approximately 3,199-square-foot space will undergo a $200,000 tenant finish-out. The project will include new non-load-bearing partitions, finishes and mechanical, electrical and plumbing work.
Construction is scheduled to begin October 28, 2026, with completion targeted for January 29, 2027.
Torres said the location is expected to open during the first quarter of 2027 and will be the first KidStrong location in New Braunfels.
“I’m a local of New Braunfels,” Torres told WhatNow. “Because I believe that this concept has a great impact on communities, I really wanted to bring this to New Braunfels, as the town is one of the fastest-growing towns for families and kids in Texas.”
According to Torres, the decision was also driven by the growing number of families in the area and what he sees as an opportunity to provide children with additional developmental programming beyond traditional sports and activities.
The new KidStrong will offer the brand’s standard class-based programming for children from babies through 11 years old, with programming tailored to different age groups and developmental stages.
While physical activity is a major component, Torres explained that the program also focuses on brain and character development.
Children may participate in age-appropriate strength, agility and speed challenges while also completing activities designed to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving. Character development activities can include practicing communication, interacting with peers and adults, making eye contact and public speaking.
“It’s a three-similar concept that helps kids develop in those three areas,” Torres said, referring to the program’s focus on physical, mental and character development.
Torres described KidStrong as a foundational program that complements the sports and extracurricular activities children may already participate in.
“I think it’s that foundational and because KidStrong is so unique,” he said. “It’s that additional development for kids that, in addition to the sport that they play, they can really go in and develop other skills, not just physical, but mental and their character.”
The New Braunfels facility will span roughly 3,500 square feet, according to Torres, with the space divided across two levels of approximately 1,500 square feet each. The setup will allow for two classes to take place simultaneously.
As a franchise location, Torres said the New Braunfels facility will follow KidStrong’s existing programming rather than introducing a separate concept specific to the market.
Memberships will be required, with the location operating as a membership-only facility. Torres expects presales to begin toward the end of 2026, around November or December.
The location is expected to employ approximately seven to 10 coaches and other staff members.
A soft opening or grand opening event is also planned, although a date has not yet been determined.
Torres said he sees potential for additional KidStrong locations in New Braunfels, San Antonio and surrounding communities in the future.
For the upcoming New Braunfels location, however, he said he is most excited about the potential impact the program could have on local children and families.
“I’m a big believer in the program and what they will do to kids’ development and self-confidence,” Torres said. “I truly believe it has a big impact on kids and helps in their growth and in the community being better kids, stronger kids.”
The TDLR filing lists 766 FM 306, Ltd. as the property owner and D4 Design Group as the design firm. The project is currently listed as registered.
