The ramen business continues to be a known name in Chicagoland.
The owner of Wu’s Ramen recently submitted a liquor license application for 1500 N Wells Street. The ramen spot currently operates at four locations around Chicagoland. Right now, the location is not listed on the website.
Wu’s Ramen has locations in Chinatown, Oak Lawn, and two in Orland Park. Owner Chang Jin Wu opened the first restaurant in Oak Lawn at 4811 W 95 Street, and the team has been seeking expansion ever since.
“With multiple locations serving the Chicago area, we are dedicated to bringing you the vibrant, authentic flavors of Japanese cuisine in a bright, modern, and welcoming atmosphere,” says the description on their website.
Ramen bowls include Tonkotsu ramen with chicken broth, pork chashu and bean sprouts, as well as miso ramen with green onion, corn, egg and seaweed. Beef ramen, rice bowls and vegetarian options are also offered. Menu offerings do not vary by location
Wu’s Ramen is coming to the west side of N Wells Street, next to American restaurant Fireplace Inn. Other concepts along this stretch include Burgon Place, Cache and Taco Pros – Old Town. The Sedgwick Brown and Purple line station is a short walk from the business.
As of July, the new location has been listed on the Illinois Secretary of State website. What Now Chicago has reached out to Wu and is awaiting comment.
