Time to fire up the grill! A popular steakhouse chain is bringing its signature sizzle to Washington Township.
LongHorn Steakhouse is one of five businesses proposed for a 20-acre development planned for the intersection of Cross Keys Rd. and Black Horse Pike. The project is also expected to include residential units and could be named “The Corner at Cross Keys,” 42 Freeway reported.
The other named businesses include Starbucks and Flagship Carwash.
The steakhouse will join its nearby locations in Deptford and Cherry Hill, as well as one just across the river in South Philadelphia.
As its name suggests, Longhorn Steakhouse is known for its “famous, expertly crafted” steaks, including Flo’s Filet, Outlaw Ribeye, Renegade Sirloin, fire-grilled T-bone, the LongHorn Porterhouse and New York Strip.
LongHorn Steakhouse also serves chicken, pork chops, ribs, shrimp and salmon, along with a variety of shareable plates, sides and desserts.
The steakhouse first opened in Atlanta in 1981. A year later, a “freak snowstorm” shut down the interstate and drove hungry travelers into the restaurant, giving LongHorn Steakhouse its first major boost in popularity.
Today, the chain operates more than 500 locations.
An official opening timeline has not been announced, as the project remains in its early stages.
