Four Green Cats Cafe is on the move, but don’t worry, it won’t be going far.
The Czech Republic-inspired eatery will move from its Mount Laurel location, where the team has operated for the past six years, to the Grand Salon on 18 Tanner St. in Haddonfield, according to a Facebook announcement.
Owner Nadia Vasa shared in the post the landlord decided not to renew the cafe’s lease. However, the team had spent the past two years searching for a new space to accommodate its growth.
“Our new location in Haddonfield (The Grand Salon) was originally planned to be our second location. Our dream was always to keep our doors open here in Rancocas Woods and continue serving the community that gave us our start,” the post read.
The Haddonfield spot will be much larger and only about 20 minutes from the original flagship.
“Haddonfield is beautiful and steeped in history, which perfectly fits our vision. It will be an oasis of old-world European elegance—a true Czech cultural embassy,” the post read.
The interior will maintain the same cozy atmosphere, drawing inspiration from the traditional coffee houses of Vienna and Prague.
The scratch-made menu of Czech staples will also remain, featuring pastries, donuts, cakes and strudels, along with light lunch options such as the open-faced Czech party sandwich, dumplings and potato salad.
The Mount Laurel location will stay open through the end of the year, when its lease expires. As the team moves its baking equipment to the new Haddonfield kitchen, the cafe will eventually transition to modified hours and a limited menu. Fresh pastries will be baked in Haddonfield and delivered to Mount Laurel daily.
The team is currently hiring baristas, savory chefs and pastry chefs, and is encouraging culinary school students to apply for the available positions.
The new flagship is expected to debut at the end of September.
“We deeply hope that the bond we’ve built over the last six years is strong enough that you will take that short drive to visit us and continue this journey with us,” the post read.
