Promising “Lowcountry soul. Island Flow,” Johns Island’s upcoming mixed-use development Jubilee is moving forward with the development of the Jubilee Hotel.
This week, the City of Charleston Design Review Board reviewed an application for conceptual approval of a four-story hotel with 75 rooms, accompanied by a site plan that includes a future restaurant. The owner? Jubilee Hotel LLC.

“At the heart of [the] project, The Jubilee Hotel is a 75-key boutique retreat that offers modern luxury with a soulful Lowcountry touch. Wellness-focused and nature-inspired, it features a saltwater pool, fitness studio, and nourishing, nostalgic cuisine. With breezy architecture and serene interiors, it’s the perfect blend of restorative hospitality and Southern charm, made for weekend getaways, wedding guests, and quiet resets.”
The buzz has been building in recent months. Earlier this year, in March, Hotels Magazine published a preview of the U.S. development pipeline planned by Charleston-based hotel management and development company Charlestowne Hotels.
“A mixed-use project, Jubilee in Johns Island, S.C., is scheduled for 2028 and will include a 140-room development combining hotel, rental cottages and commercial space,” the coverage says.
These additional rooms likely include The Cottages, “Jubilee’s collection of 1–3 bedroom cottages [that] offers guests the freedom of a vacation rental with the elevated experience of a boutique stay.”
What Now reached out to representatives of Charlestowne Hotels to ask about the Jubilee Hotel’s culinary program and restaurant. A representative could not be immediately reached for comment.
