VIETRI is coming home to Chapel Hill. The Italian-inspired home and tabletop brand is preparing to open a flagship store at East 54 Shopping Center, at 1000 Environ Way. VIETRI announced the upcoming store on Instagram, describing the location as a longtime dream of founder Susan Gravely that is now coming to life.
According to VIETRI’s Instagram announcement, the store will showcase the brand’s handcrafted products alongside curated, one-of-a-kind finds sourced throughout Italy. The company said the space is designed to give the local community a place to find gifts, experience Italy, and discover beautiful designs for the table and home.
The Chapel Hill opening also has a connection to VIETRI’s beginnings. The company shared on their website that Gravely’s journey with VIETRI began following a 1983 trip to Italy with her mother and sister. That experience inspired the brand, which was subsequently built in Chapel Hill. VIETRI described the new store as a return to the community that played an important role in its history.
The company’s website says shoppers at the new store can expect VIETRI’s collections of dinnerware, glassware, linens, and home décor, along with special pieces selected from Gravely’s travels throughout Italy. The assortment will extend beyond traditional tabletop offerings, with additional gifts and distinctive finds intended to make the store a broader Italian-inspired shopping destination.
An exact grand-opening date has not yet been announced, but VIETRI is encouraging customers to sign up through its website for updates and information about upcoming grand-opening events. For local shoppers familiar with the brand’s Italian craftsmanship, the new store will offer a chance to experience VIETRI in the Chapel Hill community where its story began.
