J.Jill, the national women’s apparel and accessories brand, is building a new store in Bridgeport Village at 7455 SW Bridgeport Rd, relocating from its current spot near Sephora to a new location near the Village Green, according to the mall’s leasing announcements. Construction is already underway, and shoppers can continue visiting J.Jill’s existing store during the transition.

They have operated at Bridgeport Village for years, building a community around its easy, thoughtful approach to women’s fashion, offering apparel, footwear and accessories across Petite, Women’s and Tall sizing, along with in-store private styling appointments. The brand markets its style around soft fabrics, original prints and a philosophy the company describes as keeping things simple while still making them matter.

The move places J.Jill among a cluster of other apparel and lifestyle tenants near the Village Green, joining brands like Eileen Fisher, Anthropologie and Cotopaxi in that section of the mall. Malls repositioning long-standing tenants into upgraded, newly built spaces has become an increasingly common strategy for shopping centers looking to modernize their footprint without losing an established retailer altogether.

Shopping center operators increasingly treat these kinds of rebuilds as a low-risk bet compared to signing an unproven new tenant, since J.Jill’s sales history at the location already proves their demand. For shoppers, the practical upshot is simple: better fixtures, a fresher layout and likely more square footage, without having to wait for a brand they’ve never heard of to prove itself first.
