Jersey Mike’s Subs is continuing its South Florida expansion with a new restaurant planned for Wellington.
JM Lakeworth LLC recently filed permit applications with the Florida Department Business and Professional Regulation to open a Jersey Mike’s at 4235 Chukka Lane, Suite 105 in Wellington. An opening date has not yet been announced.
The new restaurant will bring Jersey Mike’s familiar lineup of hot and cold subs to the area. The chain is known for slicing meats and cheeses to order and serving cold sandwiches “Mike’s Way,” with onions, lettuce, tomatoes, olive oil, red wine vinegar and spices. Hot offerings include cheesesteaks and grilled chicken subs.
Jersey Mike’s traces its roots to 1956, when the original Mike’s Subs opened on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. The company has since grown into one of the country’s largest sandwich chains. As of June 28, Jersey Mike’s had 3,378 restaurants, including 30 international locations, with 99% of its stores operated by franchisees.
The company entered a partnership with private-equity firm Blackstone in 2025 and became publicly traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker JMKE in July 2026.
