Haddon Township’s Beloved Gluten-Free Vegan Kitchen Prepares Its Final Chapter

A popular plant-forward restaurant, Goodbeet, is preparing to say goodbye to the Haddon Township community. The restaurant owner shared the closure announcement with a long, emotional farewell message on social media.

Goodbeet to Close Its Haddon Township Location

Goodbeet serves plant-based menu items that are gluten-free and dairy-free. Its menu includes plant-based dishes, customizable bowls, desserts, and smoothies.

Goodbeet operates at 29 Haddon Avenue in Haddon Township. The restaurant, founded by Ashley Coyne in 2015, aims to offer a healthier and preservative-free vegan-eating alternative to the community.

After 11 years of service, Goodbeet will close its doors permanently. The owner wrote on social media, that the last full kitchen day will be on October 9. The front window of the restaurant for grab-and-go items will remain open through Halloween, October 31.

In the closure announcement post, the owner highlighted restaurant industry challenges as the reason for the closure. The team wrote, “The way the restaurant industry has been not for the weak, and neither is trying to find people to cook.”

The owner also requested the community to help the staff during the transition. “This girl needs a job now, so if you have any connections or opportunities, slide into my DM’s,” read the post.

Farewell Message for the Community

Talking about the journey of the restaurant, the owner said that for more than a decade, Goodbeet has served the community and it has been a wonderful experience. She also acknowledged that over the years of operation, the restaurant has expanded its footprint and received national and regional recognition.

The restaurant owner also thanked the community, customers, and staff and wrote, “Thank you for the almost 11 years of support, memories, friendships, connections, and trusting me to employ your kids(!!).”

The owner also encouraged the community to visit and “come eat/drink your favs, hang with us, cry with us, we’ll take all the hugs you’re willing to give” before it permanently closes.

As Goodbeet enters its last chapter of operation, it leaves a significant mark on Haddon Township’s vegan community.
