A rooftop cocktail, fresh seafood and a place to settle in with friends are all part of the plan for Zunzibar’s first Jacksonville location. The coastal-inspired restaurant is preparing to open at Brooklyn Station, bringing its blend of food, drinks and relaxed dining to the city’s Brooklyn neighborhood.

The restaurant will occupy 90 Riverside Avenue, Suite 601, in the former Burrito Gallery space at the Fresh Market-anchored shopping center. According to the Jacksonville Business Journal, the 6,025-square-foot restaurant has been under construction since June and is targeting a fall 2026 opening.

Zunzibar began in Savannah, Georgia, in 2021 and has since expanded to other locations in Georgia and Florida. The Jacksonville restaurant will be its fifth location.

The menu focuses on coastal cuisine, with seafood, raw bar selections, small plates, salads, handhelds and larger entrees. Diners can expect options such as oysters, chilled peel-and-eat shrimp and ceviche, alongside more casual choices including wings and burgers. The restaurant’s website describes its approach as a mix of coastal food and cocktails designed for both quick visits and longer meals with friends.

Drinks are another central part of the concept. Zunzibar offers a curated cocktail program alongside beer and wine, giving the restaurant a bar-focused side that complements its food menu.

The Jacksonville location will span two levels, with indoor and outdoor dining areas and a bar that connects the interior to the patio. The ground floor is planned to include a fire pit surrounded by Adirondack chairs, while the upper level will feature lounge-style seating. A rooftop bar is also planned, adding another place for guests to gather.

Zunzibar’s arrival will bring a new dining option to Brooklyn Station, a neighborhood shopping destination along the St. Johns River. The restaurant aims to serve a mix of customers, from those stopping by for drinks to groups meeting for dinner.

An exact opening date and operating hours have not yet been announced. The restaurant says additional details will be shared as the Jacksonville opening approaches.
