Springfield-based PacificSource plans to permanently lay off 134 Oregon employees as it exits the Montana market and restructures its business.
The cuts, announced in a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) letter dated Oct. 20, will be effective Dec. 31 and are a direct result of the health insurance provider’s decision to leave the Montana market and cease its family/personal health insurance plans. The company also said the cuts are part of its “rightsizing” the business in Oregon across all of its plans.
Multiple Hubs in Oregon Impacted
Stephanie Pimmel, Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer for PacificSource, said in the letter dated Oct. 20 that all impacted employees have been notified of the reductions. That correspondence, which provided the required 60-day prior notice, serves as an official timeline for employees as well as local and workforce officials to deploy teams to assist affected workers with finding new employment or other support.
The affected locations are:
- Springfield (Headquarters): 555 International Way, Springfield, OR 97477
- Bend: 2965 NE Conners Ave, Bend, OR 97701
- Portland: 1500 SW First Ave, Suite 200, Portland, OR 97201
- Salem: 4263 Commercial St SE, Suite 400, Salem, OR 97302
The notice was sent to Oregon Rapid Response Coordinator Michael Welter and the mayors of the four affected cities: Julie Hoy of Salem, Keith Wilson of Portland, Melanie Kebler of Bend, and Sean VanGordon of Springfield.
Additionally, PacificSource states that no affected employees are represented by a labor union and that they will not have the right to bump or displace other employees. A full listing of those job titles that are being cut is available and anyone with questions or concerns can reach out to:
