Batter Up Social is targeting an early 2028 opening for its flagship venue in Nashville, introducing an entertainment concept that combines baseball and softball batting with dining, drinks and social activities. The company announced the planned opening on October 13, 2026, describing the venue as an open-air batting experience designed for casual visitors and experienced players alike.
According to Batter Up Social’s announcement, guests will be able to choose between baseball and softball, adjust pitching speeds and select different pitch styles inside individual batting bays. The company says its pitching machines will replicate real pitchers, with speeds ranging from 30 to 90 mph. HitTrax technology will track performance measures such as exit velocity, launch angle and distance, allowing guests to compare results, compete on leaderboards and participate in home run derbies, tournaments and leagues.
The planned venue will extend beyond the batting areas, with several food, drink and entertainment options. Batter Up Social says the property will include Swing Away Cafe, a ballpark-inspired sports bistro, as well as a rooftop biergarten and a sports bar and lounge designed for watching live baseball games. Additional amenities are expected to include The Lab training center, pitching and fielding areas, an interactive arcade, a retail shop selling gear and private event and meeting spaces.
The company’s proposed format is intended to accommodate a range of visitors, from people looking for a casual group activity to players interested in training and competition. Batter Up Social also says the venue will feature 15 to 25 batting bays and a large outdoor field, with tiered fences at different heights and distances.
The project has backing from a group of professional athletes and sports industry figures. The company’s October announcement named former Major League Baseball player and World Series champion Ryan Howard, softball standout Sierra Romero, Mike Fonseca of The Fonseca Group, former Baltimore Orioles player-development professional Liam Gibney, Jeremy Shelby of Elite Life Management and GW Wright of Locker Room Agency among its backers.
Romero said in the announcement that she believes the concept could help grow interest in baseball and softball while introducing a new generation to the sports. Howard also shared his enthusiasm for giving fans an opportunity to experience the excitement of hitting home runs.
