The Butcher’s Daughter will open its first Texas location at 1600 S. Congress Ave. in Austin, according to theBusiness Journals. The restaurant is in the former South Congress Café space.
It will share the property with Only the Wild Ones, the group’s wine and vinyl listening bar, which opened on the site’s former patio on May 1, 2026. According to Austin Monthly, the Austin restaurant will be the brand’s largest yet and the first time the two concepts share one property.
The Butcher’s Daughter was founded in New York in 2012 by Heather Tierney and Sarah Meyer Simon. It has locations in Nolita and Williamsburg in New York, and in Venice and West Hollywood in Los Angeles.
The restaurant is fully vegetarian, with vegan and gluten-free options, according to Tribeza. Its menu includes vegetable-based takes on familiar dishes, such as Cauliflower Cacio e Pepe and a Watermelon “Tuna” Tostada.
According to Austin Monthly, the Austin location pairs an all-day café with a full bar. The founders designed it as a gathering place inspired by their travels in Europe.
The restaurant will open daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. for breakfast and lunch, with dinner service following shortly after. The space keeps the building’s original features, including limestone, exposed brick, concrete floors and bow-truss wood ceilings. Nearly all of the décor was sourced within 100 miles, according to Austin Monthly.
