Earlier this year, What Now Boston reported that The Sweetish Fish was preparing to open its first permanent storefront in Chestnut Hill. Now, founders Savanna Vaughn and Cara Crupi-Dulmaine are setting their sights on a second brick-and-mortar location at 119 Harbor Way in Boston’s Seaport District.

Although The Sweetish Fish already has a seasonal pop-up in the Seaport, the new storefront will allow the brand to bring its full candy shop concept to life, with an expanded selection of sweets and its signature pink, beach-inspired design. Vaughn told What Now Boston that the new shop will be the brand’s largest brick-and-mortar location to date, offering its widest variety of Swedish and international candies alongside rotating seasonal desserts and beverages.

“Guys! We OH-FISH-ALLY 🎣 made Seaport our forever home,” the team shared in a social media announcement this week. “We can’t wait to share the journey of building our dream store with you all. More variety, more sweets, and more pink than Seaport has ever seen!”

Inspired by the founders’ beachside summers and trips to local candy shops, the Cape Cod-born concept officially launched as a seasonal food trailer in the summer of 2025. Vaughn and Crupi-Dulmaine set out to reimagine the traditional penny-candy experience with a specialty shop devoted to international confections, particularly Swedish sweets. Unlike many traditional American candies, Swedish varieties are often made with real sugar instead of high-fructose corn syrup, and many are vegan and gluten-free.

Since its debut, The Sweetish Fish has grown well beyond its original Cape Cod trailer. Today, the brand operates a permanent storefront at The Street at Chestnut Hill, as well as pop-ups and candy carts across Cape Cod, Martha’s Vineyard, and even Newport Beach, California. Its seasonal pop-up at The Current in Seaport will remain open through January 31, 2027.

At The Sweetish Fish, shoppers can browse a rotating assortment of gummies, tangy sours, and chewy foams, with daily selections ranging from foamy Bubs and sour skulls to Rambo twists and marshmallow treats. The shop features eight to 18 international candies each day, available by the ounce for anyone looking to build a custom mix. Those who prefer to grab and go can opt for a Skip-the-Line Bag in an 8- or 16-ounce size, filled with the day’s “catch.”

The Seaport location will build on that selection with rotating seasonal desserts and beverages. One recent addition is a Dole Whip soft-serve twist, which made its debut at the Cape Cod truck this past summer. Vaughn also hinted at more sweet surprises set to roll out at The Current during this year’s Snowport season.

The permanent Seaport storefront is targeting a spring 2027 opening, with additional details about the new location expected to be shared in the coming weeks. In the meantime, Seaport candy lovers can visit The Current to satisfy their sweet tooth or shop online at thesweetishfish.com.
