A Philadelphia-based coffee roaster is brewing up plans to caffeinate the Main Line next year.
Rival Bros Coffee, co-founded by longtime friends Damien Pileggi and Jonathan Adams, will open its latest location at Eagle Village Shops.
The team is partnering with Stokes Architecture and Design to bring the new space to life while maintaining its signature artisanal, boutique aesthetic.
“While we’re still in the early stages, this is a big milestone for Rival Bros, and we’re looking forward to becoming part of the Wayne community,” a spokesperson told Whatnow Philadelphia.
A big milestone indeed, as the team also celebrates 15 years of Rival Bros.
Pileggi and Adams met in high school but grew closer after graduation while working together in Philadelphia’s restaurant scene. During that time, they discovered a shared dream of one day opening their own business.
What began as a coffee trailer has grown into five shops across the city, with locations in Rittenhouse Square, Midtown Village, East Passyunk, Brewerytown and Olde Kensington. The upcoming Wayne location will mark the brand’s sixth shop.
“It’s not work, it’s not home, it’s not school. It’s just somewhere where you go to socialize, which is why we loved going to cafes when we were younger, and somewhere to drink really good coffee, and that’s our goal,” Adams said via the website.
Rival Bros Coffee is known for its lineup of custom, house-roasted blends and rotating seasonal single-origin beans.
Standout offerings include the Revolver Blend, featuring notes of milk chocolate, marzipan and nougat; the Whistle and Cuss Blend, with hints of cherry cordial, malt and candied nuts; and the Heavyweight Blend, offering notes of dark chocolate, caramel and toasted walnut.
The team targets a Spring 2027 debut. Visit the Rival Bros Coffee website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
