Char is preparing to expand its Tennessee presence with a new restaurant in Franklin, bringing its steakhouse concept to 787 Crescent Centre Drive. The opening date has not yet been confirmed, according to a report published by The Tennessean in October 2026.
Founded in Jackson, Mississippi, in 2001, the restaurant has established its identity around steaks, fresh seafood and a dining experience influenced by Southern and New Orleans traditions. Its Franklin arrival will extend the brand’s footprint in Tennessee, where it joins its existing presence in the state alongside locations in Alabama and Mississippi, The Tennessean reported.
The menu and service model are designed to accommodate different occasions throughout the day. According to the publication, guests can expect a range of dining options, including morning coffee, business lunches, happy hour and full dinner service. The restaurant’s offerings place an emphasis on quality steaks and fresh seafood, making it a destination for both casual visits and more traditional sit-down dining.
According to The Tennessean, live entertainment is another part of the concept’s identity. Char restaurants feature signature piano bars with live jazz performances, including jazz brunches inspired by New Orleans dining traditions. These elements give the restaurant a social atmosphere that extends beyond its food and beverage offerings.
The Franklin restaurant will add another destination for the brand in Middle Tennessee. WhatNow Nashville will provide further details about the new location as they become available.
