Thirsty is planning a $1.96 million renovation of its downtown Corpus Christi property at 1002 N. Chaparral, Corpus Christi, TX 78401, according to Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) records.

The project, listed as Thirsty Corpus Amended Construction, involves remodeling an existing 9,373-square-foot restaurant across two floors. Plans include updates to the kitchen and restrooms, along with indoor and outdoor dining areas.

According to the TDLR filing, construction was scheduled to begin June 30, 2026, with an estimated completion date of January 31, 2027. The project is privately funded, and its current status is listed as Project Registered. The property owner is identified as Thirsty Corpus LLC, with Jacob Araujo listed as the contact.

Thirsty was previously introduced as a family-friendly restaurant, bar, and event space planned for downtown Corpus Christi. Earlier development plans outlined a first-floor bar and kitchen, a second-floor bar and seating area, a rooftop patio, and a parking lot that could also serve as an event space.

The project has also received attention through the city’s downtown redevelopment efforts. In August 2026, the Corpus Christi Reinvestment Zone No. 3 board approved a one-year extension to the development reimbursement agreement for Thirsty Corpus LLC, extending the project timeline through June 30, 2027.

The renovation was another step in the planned redevelopment of the downtown property, intended to boost the area’s restaurant and entertainment offerings.

Further details about the restaurant’s menu, operating hours, and anticipated public opening date have not yet been confirmed.

WhatNow will continue to follow the project and update this article as more information becomes available.
