Midtown is getting a new Chipotle Mexican Grill.
The build-your-own burrito chain is coming soon to 1010 Midtown, at 1080 Peachtree Street NE.
It will occupy Suite 13C, according to a permit application filed recently with the City of Atlanta.
An estimated $300,000 could be spent building out the 3,555-square-foot Chipotle.
It’s unclear where specifically the new quick-service restaurant will be housed within the mixed-use development, however.
The permit application calls for the “renovation” of the “former Panera Bread” space for the forthcoming Chipotle.
Panera Bread is still open for business.
A manager for the quick-service sandwich shop told What Now Atlanta (WNA) over the phone Tuesday Panera had no plans to shutter, either.
Leasing representatives for 1010 Midtown have not immediately responded to WNA’s request for comment.
Developing…
I think it is going in where another Mexican place was right at the corner of Peachtree and 11th. There is already some work being done in the space…
hi Shannon! The Mi Cocina space is going to be a Sugar Factory > https://whatnowatlanta.com/sugar-factory-midtown-update/ ~ Caleb
Sugar Factory is already renovating the Mi Cocina space. Can’t wait for it to open!
Panera would be stupid to close this location. Lunchtime is constantly busy! If the Chipotle does happen, that would be a quick Mexican option in the neighborhood.
This is going in part of the former CB2 space which has been divided.
Maybe it’s going in underneath the Piedmont office. It’s only occupying the second floor.
The permits were incorrectly filed. It’s going in the CB2 space. Panera isn’t leaving.
