North American Properties (NAP), the real estate developer overhauling Midtown’s Colony Square, is moving forward with plans to open a food hall as part of the center’s “reimagination.”

Plans this week were filed with the City of Atlanta to construct the hospitality concept called Main & Main, almost two years to the day that the food hall was first announced.

Building out the 25,000-square-foot Main & Main is expected to cost $4.2 million, according to the official filing.

Its primary entrance is accessible by way of The Grove, a lush green space with outdoor seating that fronts 14th street, which debuted earlier this year.

Main & Main is expected to open in 2020 and will be run by food hall aficionado Oz Rey LLC, a Texas-based company.

Local restaurant group The Indigo Road, which is opening Sukoshi in Colony Square this month, was originally on board to operate Main & Main.

NAP this week also filed plans for an “outdoor market with liquor, beer, and wine.”

It’s unclear if the outdoor market will be part of Main & Main, but plans for the food hall do call for a “terrace bar” as well as more than a dozen culinary concepts.
