New hotel owners oust
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants
UPDATE (March 17): Pacci Ristorante to reopen as ‘R’ Restaurant and Lounge at Midtown’s former Hotel Palomar
Midtown’s Hotel Palomar is undergoing a change in ownership which will result in closure of their in-house restaurant.
Pacci Ristorante, located at 866 West Peachtree Street, should close March 25, according to restaurant spokeswoman Melissa Libby.
“It’s my understanding that Pacci is closing on 3/25,” said Libby in a direct message to What Now Atlanta on Twitter. “The new owners will decide what to do with it from there.”
John Kessler with the Atlanta Journal Constitution noted in his report the Thayer Lodging Group acquired Hotel Palomar and “has ousted the hotel’s management firm,” Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants.
Pacci Manager, Gino Dew said the closing of the restaurant was “news to me,” during a visit to the hotel Saturday.
We asked Midtown resident and Pacci patron Josh Savage, who was enjoying cocktails on the restaurant’s patio Saturday, if he knew of the restaurant’s alleged closure.
“It won’t hurt my feelings,” Savage said.
Amy Wenk with Midtown Patch contributed to this report.

This is a great loss for Atlanta! Pacci was our absolute favorite restaurant! It shocks me that the Thayer Group would close a restaurant that is always buzzing, and always full! Chef Keira Moritz is extremely talented, and we will follow here wherever she goes!
Why close a restaurant that was doing so well? I don’t get it.
This website was exciting when places were opening and new projects were being built. Now it is just depressing. 🙁
Stupid…stupid…stupid. Pacci is a successful restaurant that enjoys a good reputation within the Atlanta food and hospitality community. They are just ignorant to close this place so early in its life cycle.
Very sad. Pacci was one of my favorite fine dining restaurants in the city. My wife and I enjoyed several great meals here. I really hope the chef is able to land somewhere else in the city that can provide a good showcase for her talent.
Pacci was sub-par even by Atlanta’s standards. Food was barely passable by a marginal cook. No one leaves a great food town like San Francisco for Atlanta. It lasted longer than it should have. Good riddance. Put in another overpriced taqueria, seems more like Atlanta’s speed and taste.
Dang I just reviewed them in Rolling Out dang! Smh!
