Plans to build a mixed-use residential tower as part of the Warner Atrium offices were finalized and submitted to the City of Los Angeles in early-January, 2020.

Developer Sandstone Properties first revealed the expansion project in mid-2018 after acquiring the 128,762-square-foot Warner Atrium office building, at 6400 Canoga Ave., for nearly $28 million.

“Entitlement and architectural firms have been engaged, and plans to develop a high-rise multi-family project with over 650 apartments have been filed,” Sandtown published to its website earlier this week, outlining the project.

“The office building will remain open during the construction of the multi-family tower on the remaining portion of the lot.”

The new, 34 story tower, the “first residential tower located in the ‘The Valley,'” is being touted as a “striking architectural icon” that “has received high marks from the local Neighborhood Planning Associations and the City of LA Planning Department.”

Key features of the forthcoming tower include apartments available in studio, 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom floorplans, 26-room podium hotel, podium restaurant, a “membership activity club,” and a Skydeck.

Hetzel Design is the architect and Rabben/Herman Design is overseeing landscaping.

It’s unclear when the project will go vertical and what approvals are still needed to advance the plans.

Sandstone on Tuesday was not immediately available to comment when reached by What Now Los Angeles over the telephone.
