Willie Degel, the former host of Food Network’s Restaurant Stakeout, and the owner behind restaurant concepts Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse and Uncle Jack’s Meat House, is now entering the food truck space and launching a mobile eatery in the Georgia market called Jack’s Shack.
Degel has plans to incorporate food trucks at his different locations starting with his two Georgia outposts in Duluth and the forthcoming Peachtree Corners anchor at the Peachtree Corners Town Center Development.
“The first food truck will be at Degel’s new location, in Peachtree Corners, which is opening in spring of 2020,” a spokesperson shared with What Now Atlanta (WNA) over email, updating Degel’s initial projection for a late summer 2020 opening.
“The food truck will be on its outdoor patio.”
According to a recent study by Restaurant Engine, more than 2.5 billion people eat street food from a food truck every day.
“Food trucks now are much more gourmet,” Degel told WNA via email.
“Now there are a variety of options to choose from.”
The mobile eateries serve as an extension of the Meat House brand and a casual way to grab the best signature items available while creating additional revenue streams—a $500,000 to $700,000 spike, projects Degel.
