Storico Fresco Alimentari e Ristorante is adding outdoor seating directly on the street outside of the Buckhead Italian restaurant and market, Eater Atlanta Monday first reported. Plans call for six covered and heated “compartments” which will replace three parking spaces. Co-Owner Pietro Gianni confirmed the news in an email to What Now Atlanta (WNA).
The new outdoor area will add upwards of 40 seats and could open as soon as mid-January, nearly tripling Storico Fresco’s outdoor dining capacity (the current patio seats 20), at 3167 Peachtree Rd NE Suite S. “Permitting is about to be submitted as the city isn’t yet ready,” Gianni told WNA. “We will permit as soon as that happens then build a prototype. Once we are satisfied with the prototype then we will build the rest.”
Gianni and the Storico Fresco team are adding the on-street dining “for the obvious Covid reasons and because we think outdoor dining will be preferred for a very long time,” the restaurateur told Eater. Plans for the new seating area arrives on the heels of the Atlanta City Council unanimously approving an ordinance in early December that allows establishments like Storico Fresco to bring seating to the streets. The ordinance is good through the end of 2021.
Early next year, the Storico Fresco team will open Storico Vino in Buckhead Village in space formerly home to Corso Coffee. Buckhead Village is undergoing a remerchandising effort by new Owner Jamestown — it was most recently called The Shops Buckhead Atlanta.
And they did it without a GoFundMe campaign?
