The new Mike Williams Golf Center has opened its doors after completing nearly $4 million in golf improvements. The center is located within Lanier Islands Resort in Buford, Georgia. The opening follows the debut of The Six, a night-lit par-3 golf course at the resort.

The Golf Center serves as the main hub for golf activities at the resort. It is named after former CEO Mike Williams and is part of the resort’s ongoing golf expansion efforts. It also marks the first major renovation of the Legacy Golf Course clubhouse since 2009.

“The opening of the Mike Williams Golf Center is about much more than a new clubhouse,” said Lanier Islands Resort President Matthew Bowling. “It’s another major step in our vision to create an experience unlike anything else in the Southeast. Whether you’re playing 18 holes on our award-winning Legacy Golf Course, teeing it up under the lights at The Six, hosting a corporate outing, celebrating with friends, or relaxing around the fire pit overlooking Lake Lanier, we’ve created a destination where golf and hospitality come together.”

The new Golf Center includes several upgraded amenities for guests. It has an expanded pro shop, new dining options, and a 19th Hole Bar and Lounge. The facility also includes indoor and outdoor gathering spaces overlooking Lake Lanier.

Guests visiting the center can also enjoy a fire pit, patio seating, a driving range, a putting green, and The Six. There is also a new event pavilion that can host up to 180 guests. The pavilion is open for tournaments, corporate events, weddings, private celebrations, and community gatherings. It is designed for year-round use.

“Golf is evolving, and so are we,” Bowling added. “Today’s guests are looking for more than just a round of golf. They want experiences. They want entertainment. They want places to connect with family, friends, and colleagues. That’s exactly what we’ve built here. The Mike Williams Golf Center and The Six are helping us redefine what a golf destination can be.”

The Mike Williams Golf Center’s opening marks another milestone in Lanier Islands Resort’s ongoing improvements. The new facilities will enhance the guest experience while strengthening the resort’s reputation.
