First glimpse of ‘North + Line,’ Old Fourth Ward mixed-use project that’s forcing the music venue from its home of 27 years.
North + Line, a planned $60 million mixed-use project in Old Fourth Ward, is slated to break ground Monday, May 2, Atlanta Magazine first reported Friday.
The project will be constructed on land currently occupied by The Masquerade since 1989. And while the music venue is looking for a new home, the historic building that houses The Masquerade — Excelsior Mill — isn’t going anywhere.
Instead, an additional eight-story building will be added making way for “228 luxury apartments with BeltLine access, a pool with a skyline view, and a neighborhood tavern,” and Excelsior Mill will be “refurbished and converted into a restaurant,” according to Atlanta Magazine.
As for The Masquerade, its future home will be revealed in good time.
