Forthcoming operation to add to Midtown’s lunch options.

Atlanta’s Spring Street has for many years been lined with empty buildings and lots but is rapidly changing as a result of Midtown’s boom in residential and commercial development.

Thirteen projects are either proposed, under construction or recently completed on the corridor and naturally, Midtown’s current and forthcoming stock of daytime workers will be in need of more lunch options.

Appropriately, Greg Smith of Atlanta Street Food Coalition filed plans with the city for a Special Administrative Permit for a food truck park at 1298 Spring Street NW (the corner of Spring and 16th).

Smith told What Now Atlanta Thursday that the inaugural group – Scratch Cuisine/Petite Aubuerge, Mix’d Up, Genki, and Mobile Marlay – will begin serving up lunch on weekdays in April.

“Generally, our goal with this site is to get a group of vendors that have an established group of customers in Midtown within a few blocks of those customers on a more regular basis.”

Vendors will not be at the site every weekday lunch period so customers are encouraged to check Facebook and Twitter for vendors’ scheduling information.
