Shahnaz Hughson, the former owner of Bombay Gal Boutique, will soon open Boho Gal, a new jewelry boutique and gathering spot off Moreland Avenue right next to Hodgepodge Coffeehouse.

The roughly 1,200-square-foot space will offer two distinct areas.

Wholesale jewelry production and shipping that constitutes 80 percent of operations, will take place in the back, Hughson told What Now Atlanta in a telephone interview.

The front will be a showroom compartmentalized for retail, community meet-ups, entrepreneurial gatherings, classes and maker workshops.

“In the showroom, we will have gifts, cactus, books, crystals, greeting cards and jewelry,” Hughson said.

“As I’ve gotten older my interests have changed, so we’ll be offering classes on a variety of those interests like knitting and crystal readings. I want this space to motivate and empower women, but also invoke creativity.”

The interior buildout and conversion from a former hair braiding salon multipurpose boutique is expected to be complete by the beginning of March 2020.
