A new concept designed to be a third place for children is on its way to Atlanta. The Wonder Room will open at Atlanta Dairies on the Beltline at 777 Memorial Dr. SE.

The concept will come to life in a 4,329-square-foot space, according to a recently filed permit. The Wonder Room will be designed for children ages 0 to 8 and will aim to offer “an immersive, sensory-supportive, screen-free play space,” according to the brand’s Instagram page. The space will be designed to cultivate creativity, play, imagination and problem-solving. It will feature a small town with a market, cafe and stage; a forest; a maker space for building; an art studio; and quiet areas.

“Nothing here is an accident. Everything starts from one idea: children are capable, and they learn best through play,” an Instagram post states.

Children and accompanying adults will participate in sessions that last 1 hour and 45 minutes. During each session, there will also be a short, optional activity such as a craft, music, or a story. Additionally, the team teased plans for pay-what-you-can days, when families will be able to participate without the need to pay a fixed price.

The team is still in the permitting process, and a recent comment on Instagram from The Wonder Room indicates that they are still months out from opening. What Now Atlanta has reached out to owners Tali and Josh Wulz for additional details but could not obtain a comment prior to the time of publication.
