According to public filings, Walk! ATX Pet Care has filed a permit for a new building at 6707 Emerald Forest Dr. in Austin. Plans call for a 4,697-square-foot facility. What Now Austin reached out to a company representative for an update on the opening timeline but had not received a response by press time.
Walk! ATX Pet Care offers dog walking, pet sitting, grooming and bathing, and basic dog training, positioning itself as a one-stop option for pet owners who might otherwise juggle separate providers for walking, boarding and grooming needs. The company already operates several locations across the city, including spots on Emerald Forest Circle, Cloudberry Circle and Esperanza Crossing.
The Emerald Forest corridor sits in South Austin, an area that has seen steady residential growth in recent years, which could help explain demand for an expanded pet care footprint nearby. A larger, purpose-built facility would also allow Walk! ATX to potentially consolidate services that are currently spread across its smaller existing locations into a single site.
This new Emerald Forest Drive filing would add another physical location to that existing footprint, though it’s not yet confirmed whether it represents an expansion, a relocation of an existing nearby site, or a new standalone facility.
