A new woman-owned Indian restaurant is quietly taking shape in Billerica.
Local chef and entrepreneur Palak Patel recently announced plans to open a new restaurant in town, though many details—including its name, exact location, and opening timeline—remain under wraps for now. “We have a surprise for you… Something warm. Something special,” Patel shared in a recent social media post. “We’re coming to Billerica. Stay tuned.”
Patel is no stranger to the local food scene. Since 2021, she has operated Palak’s Creations, a catering and tiffin service serving traditional Indian comfort foods, including curries, dal, tikki, and other homemade specialties. Earlier this year, she announced the closure of those services, telling customers she was working on something “new and exciting”—a project that now appears to be her first brick-and-mortar restaurant.
In addition to Palak’s Creations, Patel also runs Palak’s Chai Cart, a Boston-area pop-up, catering, and high tea concept serving freshly brewed masala chai, comforting fusion bites, and Indian-inspired desserts, many of which are allergen-friendly.
While the restaurant’s menu has not yet been revealed, guests can likely expect many of the same authentic Indian flavors and homemade dishes that have earned Patel a loyal following over the years.
Patel confirmed the news with What Now Boston, sharing that the restaurant is currently under construction. An official opening date hasn’t been set, and she said additional details will be released as the project progresses.
