Retro games, entertainment and cocktails are set to arrive in North Charleston this summer.

Next Round Social, co-owned by Erica Garriss and her husband, will open at 4391 Dorchester Rd., bringing 1980s and 1990s South Beach Miami-inspired vibes.

A YouTube series inspired the idea.

“We got inspired by our son, who watches YouTube videos. There’s this couple that travels around the country playing at mini golf courses. We went to one in Atlanta and thought this would do so amazing in Charleston. It blossomed there from just a gamified mini golf course into a full-blown entertainment center,” Garriss told What Now Charleston.

Next Round Social will feature tech-infused, gamified mini golf, axe throwing, duckpin bowling, an arcade and a full-service restaurant and bar.

The menu will feature elevated bar fare, including sharables, handhelds, flatbreads, smash burgers and wings. Specials will include weekday lunch offerings from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., along with a late-night bites menu beginning at 10 p.m. nightly.

Signature cocktails include the “Sassy Rita,” made with passion fruit purée, jalapeño tequila, Cointreau and Rose’s lime juice; the “Hair of the Dog,” made with vodka, Worcestershire, Bloody Mary mix and domestic light beer; and personal boozy pitchers.

The team chose North Charleston as the ideal location for both residents and visitors, aiming to create a destination for bachelor and bachelorette parties, corporate gatherings or a classic night out.

“We don’t have anything like it in the area. We wanted to be as close to downtown as possible, but also be close to the airport for tourists—it’s such a huge industry here and we have so many people travel here for big parties that we thought it would be a great option,” Garriss said.

Garriss looks forward to adding a new destination to the map.

“I’m really excited to have something for the community and another option for adults, but also that kids can come to,” she said.

Next Round Social aims to open at the end of July. Visit the website and follow along on Instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.
