Neighborhood Barre is expanding with a second studio in downtown Durham, adding another location for the boutique fitness concept as it continues growing its local community. The new studio will join the existing Neighborhood Barre at 4711 Hope Valley Road, Suite 6B, in the Woodcroft Shopping Center, although an exact downtown address and opening date have not yet been announced. The expansion was shared by Neighborhood Barre Durham on Instagram.
The announcement marks the next chapter for the Durham studio, which opened in January 2022 and offers a range of barre-based workouts designed for different fitness levels. According to the Neighborhood Barre website, its Durham studio provides classes including Sculpt, Strength, and Sweat, combining low-impact barre movements with strength training and higher-intensity cardio.
Neighborhood Barre Durham is owned by Morgan Lamont, a Durham native who initially joined the studio as a founding member before becoming an instructor, studio manager, and eventually owner. The studio describes its approach as welcoming to all fitness levels, with instructors providing modifications and advancements throughout classes.
The existing studio is located in the Woodcroft Shopping Center between The Pub and Chubby’s Tacos and is positioned roughly five minutes from Southpoint Mall, 10 minutes from UNC Chapel Hill, 12 minutes from Duke, and 15 minutes from downtown Durham, according to the company.
Neighborhood Barre Durham said on Instagram that additional details about the downtown location, including the space, opening information, and class offerings, will be announced as the project progresses. The studio is also hiring for the new location and is encouraging interested applicants to reach out directly.
Neighborhood Barre operates a network of studios across multiple states, with North Carolina locations currently listed in Durham, Apex, Charlotte, Concord, Fuquay-Varina, Greensboro, and Kernersville.
For now, Durham’s second Neighborhood Barre location remains under wraps, with more information expected as the downtown studio takes shape.
