The upcoming business was recently announced by Explore Monroe NC, which shared the news on Instagram and identified Barefoot Juice Co. as the newest concept coming to the downtown storefront.
According to Explore Monroe NC, Barefoot Juice Co. will bring a combination of juices and food to the location, giving the downtown area another option for quick bites and beverages. The concept is expected to operate as a grab-and-go juice and eatery, although additional details about the menu and opening date have not yet been announced.
The business is owned by Katie Cook, according to a September 2026 City of Monroe public notice. The notice states that Cook applied for assistance through the city’s Downtown Economic Development Grant Program for improvements to the property and that Barefoot Juice Co. is opening a new food service business at the location.
The city notice also indicates that Cook applied for rental assistance through the Grow Monroe Grant program, which supports businesses expanding within Monroe’s central downtown district. The property improvements and grant applications offer an early look at the work underway as Barefoot Juice Co. prepares to take over the space.
The storefront was previously home to Gingham Girl, which has since moved to a new location. Explore Monroe NC highlighted the transition as another local business preparing to bring activity back to the downtown storefront.
For now, Barefoot Juice Co. is listed as coming soon, with more information about its menu, hours and opening date expected as the project moves forward. The arrival adds another locally owned food-and-beverage concept to downtown Monroe and continues the turnover of storefronts in the city’s central business district.
