Sizzling burgers and hot dogs are on the way to a vacant storefront in the suburb.
Burger Baron has big plans towards the end of 2026 as a new location will be opening at 828 S Hicks Road in Palatine. An official opening date has not been announced, but it will be sometime in the fall or winter this year.
“It may be a smaller spot, but it’s packed with the same great food, same quality, and the same energy you’ve come to love over the years. From our burgers and gyros to fresh salads, chicken, and Italian beef, we’re bringing the Burger Baron experience back to the community,” says the recent post from Burger Baron.
The Louckes family operates in Chicago city limits at 1381 W Grand Avenue. Their Arlington Heights location at 132 E Golf Road closed in 2023 after 10 years in the village. Now, the family is taking another crack at operating in the suburbs.
At their Chicago location, their burger options include the half-pound bacon and egg cheeseburger, half-pound patty melt and the Baron western BBQ burger. Hot dogs, sandwiches and chicken tenders are also on the menu. As the restaurant opens early, Burger Baron also serves breakfast like an egg sandwich on toast.
Burger Baron will open at the intersection of E Illinois Avenue, next to District 211 North Campus high school. A Dunkin’ and Shell gas station are across the road at the northeast corner of the intersection. This is on the southern end of Palatine, close to the onramp for State Route 53.
What Now Chicago has reached out to the owners of Burger Baron and is awaiting comment. More information on the Palatine opening progress can be found on their Facebook page.
