He said he has been hoping to bring the locally-born business to the area for a long time. The local business that has grown to a successful multi-unit chain since launching in 2020.
“I’m very happy to be there because I’ve been looking for a spot there for the last three or four years,” Fleury said.
Before it was Sip & Savor, which shuttered about a year and a half ago, Block Club reports, the space was previously occupied by Starbucks. Since acquiring the building, Deep Purpl has painted the exterior to have a dark purple facade.
Fleury founded the company after moving from Brazil to Chicago to attend Loyola University. Its menu includes açaí bowls and smoothies, Argentine empanadas and açaí pints. Locations offer takeout, delivery and online ordering.
