The beer spot is going through a change of concept this year.
Farmhouse Eatery is the name of a new concept coming to 1025 S State Street in downtown Lockport. The former Lock & Mule restaurant was managed by Tangled Roots Brewing Company, and it closed earlier this year. Owner of the new restaurant Scott Struchen told What Now Chicago construction is underway, and he is aiming to open Oct. 1.
Struchen was with Tangled Roots before leaving a few years ago. He wanted to create his own concept that connects restaurant visitors to farms from around the country, as part of his group Splurge Hospitality. The menus will feature QR codes that connect people to the farms where the ingredients were produced, like cheese created in San Francisco.
“Food that you love that loves you back,” is the slogan for the restaurant.
While an exact menu is not yet being revealed, those dining can expect pastas, sandwiches, salads and other entrees prepared over a grill. They are also introducing a charcuterie membership program that will pair wines, nonalcoholic drinks and spirits to charcuterie items on the menu. The drinks served will be released closer to the opening.
The space is on the west side of S State Street, across from Stagecoach Saloon. This is also near concepts like Jackie’s Pub, Tallgrass Restaurant and Taco Haven of Lockport. The Lockport Metra station is a couple blocks south of the storefront.
This is only the start for Farmhouse Eatery, as Struchen and the team plan on opening 60 locations across the country over the next few years. Right now, the business does not have a social media presence for updates.
