An entrepreneur is planning more than just a cupcake shop this year.
The Flower Cupcake Co. is entering a new chapter as owner Cassandra Rosario opening a brick-and-mortar at 5412 W Devon Avenue. This will be both a bakery and cafe, serving cold brew coffees and iced matcha drinks. Rosario told What Now Chicago she is looking at a November opening for the business.
Rosario said she has been planning the cafe since July, following her time as a home baker in the area. She prepares arrangements of flower cupcakes for all kinds of events, and has wanted to create an extension of her current business.
“What started as a dream, then became countless cupcakes, late nights, workshops, orders, and so many beautiful celebrations… is becoming a place of its own,” says the recent announcement post on their Facebook page.
Along with the cupcakes she prepares, Rosario is also offering New York-style cookies, cake pops and cinnamon rolls in the bakery section. The kitchen will not have an espresso machine, but the cold brew drinks will still be served on-site. For the kids, canned drinks like sodas will be available from a cooler.
The Flower Cupcake Co. is opening at the same building as King Pho Vietnamese restaurant. This is in between a Domino’s Pizza and A Vintage Bloom florist. The Edgebrook Metra station is a short walk from the building.
More updates on The Flower Cupcake Co. and the future brick and mortar can be found on their Facebook or Instagram pages.
