J’s Breakfast Club, known for serving delicious home-cooked breakfast while inspiring positivity through love, is relocating in Gary to 2901 Broadway.

Construction crews recently started cleaning the grounds for the new restaurant, which will be located near the Borman Expressway, one of the busiest strips of interstate in the country, according to NWI Times. The exact opening date is unknown, but the progress proves positive, considering the project has been planned for quite some time. Powers & Sons Construction will be building the new restaurant, which will be much larger than the current site at 3669 Broadway.

“Today is a pure example of ‘delayed but not denied,'” owner Joslyn Kelly tells NWI Times. “Everything happens in God’s time, so we are right on schedule. It is wonderful to work with a reputable team that had its beginnings in Gary and has built structures across the country.”

Although the new restaurant won’t launch until sometime next year, customers can still go to the original location, which will remain open until ownership is ready to move. Although Kelly may add new menu items to the new site, the restaurant’s original menu ranges from simple breakfast classics to more southern-inspired dishes. Kelly opened J’s Breakfast Club in October 2015 and quickly gained a loyal fanbase.

“I have been coming to J’s for years enjoying the food and atmosphere,” customer Ollette Washington tells NWI Times. “I am excited for Joslyn and her team as they will be able to introduce their delicious menu and great customer service to a larger audience by being so close to the highway.”
