A spot for healthy bowls is being built just south of Northwestern University.

Lolo’s Bowls is an acai bowl concept planned for Evanston at 523 Davis Street, from recent reports. The team has already expanded into Glenview and Lake Zurich after their Libertyville debut, and have been seeking a new suburb to serve their bowls. Owner Lauren Schick told What Now Chicago she is hoping to debut the new spot sometime in early November.

“Illinois’ best acai bowls & smoothies,” says the description on their Facebook page.

The business debuted in 2019 at 854 S Milwaukee Avenue in Libertyville. At the locations, bowls filled with an acai base, fruits and toppings are served. Their popular Cali bowl is filled with blueberries, pineapple, granola and cashews, topped with coconut oil.

The storefront is near the intersection of Chicago Avenue, next to Joy Yee Noodle. Todoroki Hibachi and Sushi is across the street, along with Pizzeria Deville Evanston. The Davis CTA station and Evanston Metra station are a short walk from the building.

Schick and the rest of the team will be showcasing more of the space on social media including Instagram as it gets closer to the opening date.
