The Michigan-based coffee franchise could be expanding to the Prairie State.
Two university students are looking to debut a new Bayt Al Mocha coffee location in downtown Chicago, from a recent Facebook post shared by the co-owner. This would be the first cafe from the company operating in Illinois. The two have an address in mind, but are not revealing it at this time.
“This location has incredible daily foot traffic from office workers, students, tourists, and residents. We believe Downtown is missing a premium 100% halal brunch restaurant paired with authentic Yemeni coffee,” says the post.
Bayt Al Mocha currently operates in states including Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky. The first cafe opened in Dearborn, Michigan two years ago, founded by Abdulla Alysofi. Right now, the company is also looking at expansion in their home state.
The lattes served at Bayt Al Mocha are unique, including their Bayt Special Latte with steamed milk, nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves. Other than coffee, teas, smoothies and matcha are also on the menu. Food options include desserts like tiramisu, cheesecake and basboosa.
From the post, the aspiring owners have contributed over $100,000 towards the project and are looking for more investors. What Now Chicago is awaiting comment from the owners on the new location.
