Parents wanting a quick bite to eat while letting their children play are getting a new dining option.

Mike and Alison Ferguson from Treehouse Play Cafe are building a new location at 555 E Townline Road this year. It will be the third cafe from the team, the others being in Lake Zurich and McHenry. The owners told What Now Chicago they are anticipating an early 2027 opening.

The Fergusons first opened their Lake Zurich location around 20 years ago, then closing it during the pandemic. Later, the family brought their concept back to the suburb at 985 S Rand Road. Their play spaces feature slides, climbing areas and seating for the children to socialize.

“Where kids can be kids and parents can finally relax!” Says the description on their website.

The cafe has menus for adults and children alike, with kids options including chicken nuggets, mini corn dogs and grilled cheese. For breakfast, locations serve a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich, bagels, a mini pancake parfait and their french toast stick basket. Adults get the options of coffees, teas, beers and cocktails.

Treehouse Play Cafe will open near the intersection of Milwaukee Avenue, at the plaza connected to Walmart. Bob’s Discount Furniture and Athletico Physical Therapy are also at the shopping center. The closest Treehouse location to this is in Lake Zurich.
