Postino, the all-day restaurant and wine bar is continuing its expansion across the US by debuting its first Midwest location in the Vernon Hills neighborhood. Set to open in fall 2026, Postino Vernon Hills will be located at Mellody Farm, 887 N Milwaukee Ave., Unit 400. The new restaurant will offer Postino’s signature approachable, social experience, creating a place for everything from happy hour with colleagues and post-workout lunches to Friday night date nights, with plenty of opportunities to gather, connect and linger along the way.
Located within Mellody Farm, an open-air, urban-inspired destination bringing together dining, retail and community in the heart of Lake County, Postino Vernon Hills will become part of a vibrant gathering place for residents and visitors from Vernon Hills and the surrounding northern suburbs.
The new location will feature a 3,708-square-foot interior and a 900-square-foot patio, offering ample space for guests to gather, unwind, and connect. Designed with Postino’s signature “come-as-you-are” spirit, the restaurant will include a seasonal enclosed patio, custom millwork crafted in-house, a signature art wall crafted from vintage printing blocks, historical neighborhood photography, and stained-glass window panels in front of the building as guests are welcomed in. Postino hallmarks also include mid-century modern furnishings sourced from local vintage shops, eclectic found objects, striking art installations, roll-up garage doors, custom walnut wine walls, and curated playlists that keep the energy lively. At its core, Postino is driven by a simple but powerful mission: to “Make People Feel Good.”
“We knew Vernon Hills was the right fit for Postino’s first Midwest location from the start,” said Postino Co-Founder and CEO Lauren Bailey in a statement. “The community’s welcoming spirit and growing dining scene really resonated with us, and we could immediately see Postino fitting right in. We are excited to become part of this incredible neighborhood and welcome everyone through our doors!”
Postino Vernon Hills will offer a menu of bruschetta, paninis, salads, charcuterie boards and shareable plates, paired with an ever-evolving beverage program featuring more than 20 artisanal wines by the glass, local craft brews from Illinois Right Bee Dry Cider, Italian-inspired spritzers, seasonal cocktails and zero-proof sips. The menu will also include a lineup of daily specials. Guests can enjoy daily drink specials including $6 glasses of wine from the main lineup and $6 pitchers of beer, as well as the fan-favorite Bottle & Board special on Monday and Tuesday evenings after 8 p.m., which pairs a bottle of wine with a bruschetta board for $25. Wine lovers can also become part of Postino’s wine community through its Bottle Club, offering members exclusive benefits and opportunities to discover and enjoy new wines throughout the year.
Postino draws its name from the Italian word for postman, an homage to the 1940s post office where the original location first opened more than 25 years ago. While every location is uniquely tailored to its neighborhood, each reflects the brand’s commitment to creating a welcoming “third place” where guests can gather and feel at home.
Postino Vernon Hills will be open daily for lunch and dinner at 11 am daily. For more information, please visit www.postino.com. Follow on socials at @postinowinecafe. Patrons are also invited to join Postino Pass, the brand’s membership program that offers exclusive bites, seasonal surprises and special perks throughout the year.
