Fried chicken and tasty sandwiches will be served up at a Naperville shopping center this summer.
The newest Vasco’s Peri Peri location is on the way to the city, under construction at 3124 Route 59. It is their fourth restaurant since first debuting in Schaumburg in 2020. Owner Samir Ajmeri told What Now Chicago he is hoping to debut it in July.
“Inspired by fast-paced, casual sit-down restaurants and a celebration of Portuguese and Indian food, Vasco’s formed into a reality. We set out to create a unique way of eating. bringing the fresh, nourishing, flavors of Portuguese with a twist of Indian to all,” says the description on their website.
Ajmeri is opening the newest location with his wife, and has since expanded operations to Lombard and Arlington Heights. The Arlington Heights restaurant debuted in 2024, and is now a franchise model. Ajmeri will personally own the Naperville spot.
Vasco’s Peri Peri locations feature extensive menus, with platters, bowls, their signature Peri Peri chicken, pitas, wraps and sides. Multiple options are available for their platters, with the boneless served with four tenders, four thighs, two large sides and 2 dips. Most entrees’ dip options are chili, garlic, samurai and vasconaise.
The restaurant is under construction on the south end of the Wheatland Marketplace shopping center. It’s opening close to Kabab King Grill Naperville, and is also near a Giordano’s pizza location in the plaza. This is on the south end of Naperville.
Ajmeri partners with organizations in the suburb including the Knights of Columbus, which participates in the Schaumburg Labor Day Parade. Every month, 20% of Vasco’s sales go towards a local nonprofit. He wants to bring the same level of involvement to Naperville.
The Vasco’s Peri Peri team will continue to update the community on the Naperville location on their Instagram @vascosperiperi.
